Academic Policies & Procedures

Important rules and regulations governing academic life at ACET.

Attendance Policy

Regular attendance is essential for academic success. Students are expected to attend all scheduled classes, laboratories, and examinations. The following guidelines apply:

  • Students must attend at least 80% of classes to be eligible for examinations
  • Absences due to illness must be supported by a medical certificate
  • Three tardiness instances equal one absence
  • Extended absences require approval from the Dean of Students

Academic Integrity Policy

ACET maintains the highest standards of academic integrity. Violations include but are not limited to:

  • Plagiarism - presenting others' work as your own
  • Cheating on examinations or assignments
  • Unauthorized collaboration
  • Falsification of data or records

Penalties range from grade reduction to expulsion from the institution.

Grading System

The following grading scale is used at ACET:

  • A (90-100%) - Excellent
  • B (80-89%) - Good
  • C (70-79%) - Satisfactory
  • D (60-69%) - Passing
  • F (Below 60%) - Failing

Grade point average (GPA) is calculated on a 4.0 scale.

Withdrawal & Refund Policy

Students wishing to withdraw from courses or the institution must follow these procedures:

  • Official withdrawal must be submitted to the Registrar's Office
  • Refund schedules vary based on withdrawal date
  • Medical withdrawals require documentation
  • International students must consult with the International Student Office

How do I register for courses?

Course registration is done online through the Student Portal during the registration period announced in the academic calendar. New students receive guidance during orientation.

What is the dress code?

ACET maintains a professional dress code. Students are expected to dress modestly and appropriately for an academic environment. Specific programs may have additional requirements.

How can I access my grades?

Grades are posted on the Student Portal within two weeks after examinations. Official transcripts can be requested from the Registrar's Office.

Is there on-campus housing?

Yes, ACET offers limited on-campus housing for students. Applications open at the beginning of each semester. Contact the Housing Office for availability.
